Glorious start to 2013
2013 has got off to a great start with fifteen straight days of temperatures in the 80s farenheit (upper 20s centigrade) - unusual for the time of year even in the Bahamas.
The new year was ushered in with fireworks on the beach, the usual bubbles and a full and festive house, with the Club taken over by three different family groups. There was a great party atmosphere as a result.
Many of the guests had never bone-fished before, but all set out with great expectations. We now have many new first-time success stories. Chris and Katie Foley both had their first ever bonefish while fishing at Cherokee. The Law family fared even better with three boatloads of first-timers taking 19 fish on their first day - Bucky, Sam, Jake, Josie and Charlie Law all lost their piscatorial virginity.
The Katzenstein family was not to be out done and Mike K landed some nice fish from Cross Harbour under the guidance of Tony. Michael Trethewey and Peter Begely also landed their first bones. Then it was the turn of Dr. Morris and his group, all of whom boated some good fish, with Brian Adams and Dr. Penson landing their first ever bones. Brian also had a nice fish of over 6lbs during his stay.
Eager to join in on the sport was the Byrd family; Paul and Chris also striking lucky with their first ever.
All in all a great start to 2013 and we are looking forward to a busy time ahead.
Happy New Year to everyone and we hope to see you soon.
